The Aztec Difference
The difference between Aztec and our competitors begins with OEM-quality (or higher) seals and parts.
A technician could have the perfect repair strategy but if the parts they install are not made to last, the cylinder will fail and the customer will be faced with more downtime and more expense. Our ability to find the right seals for any situation and combine them with durable parts is the “secret sauce” that has helped us become an industry leader.
All technicians at Aztec are trained to diagnose problems in hydraulic cylinders and develop an effective, efficient and unique repair strategy for each work order.
Cylinder repair technicians and supervisors are responsible for ensuring that their decisions are based on our cultural cornerstones of quality and long-term effectiveness, rather than simply doing the bare minimum for the sake of time or cost.
From the moment a part enters the building until the moment it leaves, there are a number of checks and balances in place that all Aztec technicians must adhere to.
This system involves peer reviews, supervisor analysis and, upon completion, testing under simulated operating conditions. Having these procedures in place ensures that repairs are consistent and errors are eliminated.
What Can We Repair?
At Aztec we have the parts, experience and infrastructure to repair hydraulic cylinders of all sizes and applications; including material handling, construction, agricultural, industrial and waste management.
Behind our wide-ranging capabilities is equipment that is specific to the task. Having the right tools allows our technicians to handle large, difficult jobs in a safe and efficient way. This equipment includes:
Hydraulic Cylinder Servicer
(Pictured Second From Top) Our state-of-the-art cylinder servicer has a double-acting torquer cylinder and high-speed hydraulic nut-runner, allowing a technician to use up to 60,000 lb-ft. of torque in the assembly and disassembly of cylinders up to 35 ft. long.
5-Ton Overhead Cranes
(Pictured Third from Top) Four 5-Ton overhead cranes were installed when the building was under construction, and those cranes are integral to the functioning of the Cylinder Repair Department. Having overhead cranes in place makes it possible to quickly and safely transport large components to various sections of the building for machining, welding, seal installation, re-chroming and painting.
Hydraulic Test Benches
Three hydraulic test benches (including a lift cylinder test bench outfitted with a counterweight) allow technicians to test the performance of repaired cylinders before they leave the building. Testing all cylinders is an important step as it allows technicians to check for leaks and other issues before the customer invests time and money in installation.
